Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport, takes its name from I Gusti Ngurah Rai, an Indonesian republican who fought against the Dutch during the Indonesian Revolution in 1946. The airport is more commonly referred to as Bali Denpasar International Airport and is located 13 km south of the provincial capital city of Denspasar in southern Bali.
Denpasar International Airport is the 3rd busiest airport in Indonesia after Jakarta's Soekarno–Hatta International Airport and Surabaya's Juanda International Airport.
