How to check in

Singapore Airlines uses advanced system for check-in. From 48 to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of flights, passengers can login to the online system and complete the check in procedures online. They can print the boarding pass easily. For passengers departing from certain cities, they can choose to use the mobile devices to receive the boarding pass and simply show the pass at the gate for boarding. Airport check-in services are also available for passengers who do not want to use online check-in services. The counters open at different time depending on the arrangement of each airport and passengers can check with the local offices of the airline prior to the departure.

Baggage allowance and fees

Cabin baggage allowance is set to be a piece of 7 kg regardless of destination. The cabin baggage should have a sum of length, width and height less than 115 cm. For passengers flying to or from the US or Brazil, a ‘piece concept’ is introduced for checked baggage. Passengers flying to or from the US can check at most 2 piece of baggage and each of these should weigh less than 23 kg. For passengers flying to or from Brazil, 2 pieces of baggage are allowed and each should weigh less than 32 kg. On the other hand, a weight concept is introduced for passengers flying to or from all other destinations. Such allowance is set to be 30 kg in total regardless of the number of pieces of baggage checked. Excess baggage fee for flights adopting piece concept is set to range from 100 USD to 225 USD depending on the actual flight distance. Meanwhile, the excess baggage charge for flights using weight concept is set to range from 10 USD per kg to 70 USD per kg depending on the distance.


Singapore Airlines is proud of providing seating with great comfort to passengers. Passengers can choose the seats when the purchase the tickets till they check in online. Passengers are advised to contact the airline if they have special requests for seating. Some of the seats are listed as preferred seats as they have more legroom. If passengers wish to upgrade their ordinary seats to the preferred seats, they can login online and make the payment to enable the selection.

Beverage and meals
