You'll need a sense of inquisitiveness be prepared to go the extra mile the history and shopping are two things not to be missed
Those that say it is overrun by motorcycles and the traffic is crazy are not overstating anything at all. But I found that as one of the super interesting things about the city. Try being downtown on new years eve. I was. what an adventure. If you feel the people are not friendly, just smile and say hello. they will change in a heart beat. Very wonderful people! I recommend that you visit the city, but do not DRIVE!
Loved it! Great food, architecture, shopping, nightlife and history. Very safe, easy to get around, many people speak English, signs are in English. People are very warm, welcoming and happy!
People aren't kidding when they say Vietnam is friendly. I know Thailand is officially the land of smiles, but everyone I encountered there was friendly. The pho and Bánh mì are to die for, the fruit is delicious, and the coffee-I took bags and bags home.
