Passengers, once they have completed check-in, can go through security and immigration at either terminal.
Passengers can check-in round the clock at Hong Kong International Airport. Those travelling from T1 can also use any of the 80+ self-check-in kiosks. Located in all areas of the terminal, these are available 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight time. They enable passengers with confirmed bookings to check in, select seats and collect boarding passes without queuing. All direct flights from Hong Kong International Airport to Guiyang depart from T1.
What to expect in Guiyang
Hong Kong (on Hong Kong Time) and Guiyang (on China Standard Time) are in the same time zone. Neither city observes daylight saving. With its humid subtropical climate, Guiyang has four distinct seasons, moderated by a combination of both its high elevation and low latitude. As a city,it receives only 1150 hours of sunshine a year – one of the lowest forany major city in China. Winters run from December to February and tend to be cool, wet and gloomy. Temperatures range from 4 °C and -10 °C but the humidity and dampness makes it feel colder. There are occasional snow showers. Spring is between March and May. Temperatures are warmer but occasional colder days are not uncommon. Summers – between June and September - in Guiyang are ranked as the second best in the whole of China, based on air quality, wind and temperature. Temperatures are warm, with frequent rainfall at night. July sees the highest temperatures with the average being 24 °C, and highs in the high 20’s. Autumns are short, just covering October and November, and are characterised by cooler temperatures and drizzly conditions.
The cost of living in Guiyang is considerably lower than in Hong Kong. Eating out will cost up to 800% lower, grocery shopping 300% less and transport, including taxi fares around 200% less.
