Departure from Okinawa NahaThe island is commonly known for the hosting of the United States Armed Forces. Okinawa Island is the largest of the Ryukyu Islands in Japan and is the highest in terms of population. The island is also connected to the neighbouring islands through a bridge and the mid sea road. The population in Okinawa is generally young and it is regarded among the fastest ever-growing population and even in terms of the economy, Okinawa is the fastest growing economy compared to the surrounding islands. The island is served mainly by the Naha Airport although there are various transport companies for buses and even the train. The island has been extensively used in films where it has been the setting for various movies. The city has a bubbling film scene.
Arrival in Osaka
About the cityThe largest component of the Keihanshin metropolitan area, Osaka is the capital city of the Osaka Prefecture and the second largest metropolitan area in Japan. This means that Osaka is one place of great interest in the country. The city has commonly been referred to as the “Nation’s kitchen’ as a result of its participation in the rice trade that initially formed the economic activity in the area. The city is located in an ideal environment that is open to the Osaka bay on one side and it is surrounded by 10 satellite cities on all the sides. The environment is a humid subtropical climate which experiences all the distinct seasons. The rainfall in the city is highest in June while towards the end of August, the city is hot as the rainfall decreases. The city is divided into two main parts which are the downtown called Kita, and the Southern town called Minami. The Osaka Station City is located in Kita which is like the centre of business in Osaka considering the shopping areas found in Kita. Other facilities such as banks, entertainment areas as well as fashion and culture spots like the Amerikamura are all found in Minami. The locals are very welcoming and also a very peaceful population.
Attractions in OsakaThere are various tours that are offered in Osaka for the travellers. For instance, there are day trips by bus that take one to Kyoto-Nara and back to the city. There are food tours that include a sampling of the Japanese cuisine at very affordable costs. There is also the Kyoto Small-Group Bike Tour which takes one around the city on the hired bikes. The fact that the activity is taken in a group makes it more interesting as the travellers get to experience the beauty of the city. Alternatively, one can have the half-day small-group cultural tour around the city and get to learn more about the city. There are other places to visit in the city as well, for instance, historic sites from where one can learn more about the local history. Places such as the Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, Osaka City Central Hall, the Osaka Prefecture Library or even the Tekijuku are all very good places where one can visit to learn more about the local history. The museums can also offer a beautiful view; Japan Mint, Kids Plaza Osaka or even the Osaka Museum of Houses can all offer wonderful places to while away time in a foreign city. The religious shrines such as Namba Shrine, Goryo Shrine, or the Ikasuri Shrine are places that one must visit. The Nakanoshima Park is one place that one should not miss visiting for whatever reason.
TransportAn advanced railway system connects the city with the outside areas. This means that travellers have an easy time accessing other parts of the city. There are shuttle buses between the town and its outskirts as well.
