Welcoming and relaxing guesthouse in Shkodër

We had a fantastic stay at Hostel Calao and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, welcoming place to stay in Shkodër. My partner and I stayed before and after doing the Valbona to Theth hike, and it was the perfect place to unwind, do some washing and store our extra luggage.
It’s in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, around an easy 15-minute walk from the bus terminal and city centre, with supermarkets nearby for stocking up on supplies. There’s plenty of space to relax around the hostel and nearby street parking if you have a car, which is a huge bonus.
Ignace was an incredibly friendly and welcoming host and has created a homely place with lots of character and personal touches. We also really enjoyed the home-prepared breakfast and his hospitality throughout our stay.
A great base in Shkodër, especially before or after hiking in the mountains. We’d happily stay again and definitely recommend it!

Excellent stay in the heart of Skhoder

Very nice stay, both for backpackers and for holiday accommodation. Very friendly host. Ideal location, bicycles available. 1km from the centre of Skhoder. Good beds and spacious bathroom.
