Perfect experience at Hotel Kurtabeg
Amazing experience in Hotel Kurtabeg. The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of the city (next to Theater Migjeni). It will take you just less than 5mins walking to reach the bus station or the main streat with all the bars and restaurants. The hotel room has everything you need, clean sheets, comfortable materess, perfect pillows, good AC, TV, Fridge, kettle, coffee machine, armchairs, desk. The receptionist was extremely helpful. She helped us with amazing tips, and organizing the trip to the Albanian alps, Valbona and Theth. Everything went so smoothly and nicely. We highly recommend.

Great experience for only 14€
Eccellent experience ,the rooms are so big and clean .everything Is clean even the bathroom. .Air conditioned .the owner Is a very nice person.100 Meters from the city center . I paid 14€ for a huge room .if i visit shkoder .Will book kurtabeg

Horrible Experience! Not recommended!
Horrible experience. NOT RECOMMENDED! Worst place I have stayed at and rudest owner I have encountered in my six years of traveling 23 countries.
As pictures there is no Wi-Fi connection on the floor I was in even though the owner advertised that there was Wi-Fi on the booking.com page. When I arrived the first day there was no one at the front desk and I had to wait for a while until the owner came. The owner asked me for 6200 lek as the cost of the booking and 2 days later he increased the price to 6500 Lek.
Shower faucet was broken, bathroom wall was open to the next room as pictured and was not sealed so I can hear the people next door and there was no privacy in the bathroom at all! There was a very bad sewer smell in the room.
Towels and blankets were dirty. There was no room service and other guests complained about this also.
The owner was very aggressive and rude and invaded my personal space while I was STILL in the room with my personal belongings. He also tried to rudely order me where to put MY luggage in the room I paid for!
There was a lot of noise from the room next to me and I couldn't sleep! People were banging doors, screaming, laughing, and I could hear everything and there was no one at the front desk to monitor the building or monitor issues or noise.
To add to all of this, there are four floors and no elevator!

Nice place
I stayed in a beautiful big room a double bed and single one and a nice bathroom . I payed for two persons for one night 22 euros my bad I haven't checked bookings mIt was quite the only thing that could have been a bit better was the clearness, unfortunately the receptionist knew only albanian , but otherwise everything was okay. :)

Deep value, central location
Echoing the prior review - can't believe I'm the second reviewer! Think lots of reviews of Albania hotels are on booking.com
Anyway, can't say Kurtabeg is a hidden gem, but it offers deep value. Very central location, tucked away just inside the main street of the central roundabout. It basically has hostel prices but offers very spacious rooms, with fridge, AC, and good sized bathroom. No luxuries but plenty good for a place to crash and sleep. Decent restaurant (Puri) and a supermarket very nearby.
You can arrange a jeep / 4x4 to take you to Theth from the front desk. Given how inexpensive the rooms are, we left most our stuff and car at the hotel while we hiked and stayed a night in Theth.
