Stunning

This is a hotel I would return to without any doubt: one of the few times when expectations are not disappointed.
The entrance is very impactful: it impresses with the attention to detail, elegance, and cleanliness (which I also found in the room).
Reception attentive to the customer: I particularly note the extreme kindness and attention to the customer demonstrated by Desiré.
The room (n. 229) with a view of the Cathedral is very beautiful: spacious, clean, and equipped with everything (bathrobe, slippers, ironing board, tea maker, storage space for luggage). The bathroom is also spacious, clean, and equipped with a bathtub and a large shower. I recommend the rooms with this view and especially recommend the second floor, which has a better view because it is not disturbed by the extension of the roof.
Breakfast is one of the most abundant and rich in both variety and quality that I have ever tried. The room is very bright with a view of the Cathedral. I must say that even here the staff in the dining area has always been very kind: the little details that make you feel at home (upon returning to the hotel, we met her along the bridge and she greeted us with a smile: a nicety that makes a difference).
The services included in the room price (swimming pool, hot tub, Turkish bath, changing rooms, gym, and herbal teas in the relaxation area) are all very well maintained, and the staff is also very attentive and kind. The staff provides everything you need: bathrobe or towel, slippers, shower products, and body cream.
In this hotel, one cannot help but return.

Nice hotel but with uncaring service

Nice hotel with comfortable bedrooms, lovely entrance and excellent food in the main first-floor restaurant. Good location just across the bridge from the cathedral and town centre. Very poor check-in and check-out service. It took far too long, and staff were unfriendly and didn’t care. The room wasn’t ready on arrival, and we had to wait two hours. The room was very clean, but for two days it wasn’t cleaned despite asking the cleaners to clean it. The cleaners didn’t come most nights to do the turndown service, which is expected in a five-star hotel. Some staff were cold and rude and had poor customer service skills. But overall it was a nice hotel, and we enjoyed our stay.

Outdated, no stars, no coffee machines in the rooms.

Everything is a bit aged, no coffee machines in the rooms, no stars, the price/performance ratio simply does not fit here.

Best hotel (IMHO) in Cologne (incl. those in wheelchairs)

Probably one of the best (if not THE best) hotels in Cologne (whilst I was staying there, the Bayern München FC bus was parked outside as the team was staying there!).
It has a great location, just in front of the viewing spot for the main bridge and cathedral over the Rhine (the Aussichtspunkt Hohenzollernbrücke). There's also the same great view of the river, bridge, and cathedral, from the dining room as you have your breakfast in the morning!
I'm a manual wheelchair user who travels independently, and I found the room and the bathroom ideal. Plenty of room to move around, bed was neither too low nor too high. Bathroom had grab rails around the toilet, both a lowered bath and a roll in shower. Only minor fault that I found, and this is totally personal preference, is the shower has a moveable chair - I prefer a fold-down seat attached to the wall with a fixed grab rail nearby to facilitate transfer. Oh, and a shower curtain I can close across my wheelchair whilst I shower so it doesn't get wet. But, like I said, that's a minor issue, and it's as much personal preference as a solo traveller, if anything...
The nearest train station to the hotel is Köln Messe/Deutz. It's about a 10 minute walk. However, if you arrive in Cologne by train from the airport, by Thalys/Eurostar, or on a train from elsewhere in Germany, you'll arrive at Köln Hauptbahnhof, accross the river. That's a €10-15 taxi ride (there are taxis waiting outside the Hauptbahnhof day and night) and the hotel has a separate concierge desk by the entrance that will happily call one for you. Messe/Deutz also doesn't have a lift (elevator), so, if, like me, you're in a wheelchair, or if you have a problem walking up steps, you'll have to taxis to/from Hauptbahnhof.
Breakfast has a HUGE selection (whatever you could possibly want, probably), and, like I said, there's a great view of the cathedral and the Hohenzollernbrücke bridge over the Rhein. Didn't eat there any other time of the day, so can't comment on that

Great hotel❤️

We had a very nice weekend at the Hyatt Cologne; the room was very clean and nicely furnished, plus a small gift of chocolate. I would like to thank the entire Hyatt team, especially the breakfast team from service and kitchen for a very great and plentiful buffet, polite staff who greet guests with a smile as early as 6 AM and are always ready to help. Many thanks also to the reservations team who made my stay possible, and thanks to the nice ladies from the front office and the concierge.
