The hotel was clean, safe and the staff were extremely helpful. Special mention to the guy who checked us in - unfortunately I did not get his name - he was super friendly and wrote down instructions for us on how to take the tram to the cathedral. The rooms were great and I would recommend using the restaurant next door called Schlüters - great food and awesome staff! Breakfast was very good and had a large selection of meats, cheeses and bread. Loved every minute of our one night stay!

Very basic hotel, 4*-DEHOGA rather questionable.
In advance - very friendly staff. Courteous and really pleasant. Hotel is clean.
But the price-performance structure doesn't fit here. I also wonder where 4 stars come from. No elevator, reception not manned at night, no minibar in the room, no parking directly at the hotel.
Room not at 4 star level, (let alone “Deluxe”, that’s how it was booked!) see pictures. Toilet sitting for people over 1.80m difficult to use, knees on the wall is already very uncomfortable.
Furniture to the simplest standard.
Breakfast kept very simple, products at the bottom of the price and quality scale.
The overall impression unfortunately does not allow a more positive assessment - especially if a corresponding expectation is forced by 4 stars and “Deluxe”.

We would love to come back
We were booked in mid-March for 3 nights at the Hotel Köln 2020. We had chosen one of the slightly larger deluxe rooms.
On arrival we were welcomed by the very friendly staff at reception. The check-in was very relaxed by filling in the papers online. Everything necessary was well explained and help with luggage carrying was offered.
On arrival in the room a few nice little things stand out. So there were small greeting cards on the pillows, signed by the maid and on the table lay another personal greeting from the owner. This was completed by the covers of the glasses in the bathroom, which were provided with a greeting
You feel very welcome here.
In the very clean room we had very good beds, an open wardrobe, a desk and a small table as well as a flat screen TV and fan. The wifi works perfectly throughout the house.
Our room was located on the 1st floor. Ground floor directly above the restaurant and bar located in the house. The room was very quiet and the traffic noise of the busy intersection was almost inaudible.
For breakfast we were welcomed by a female employee and instructed in the finer points of the breakfast room. In the vestibule to the actual breakfast room there is a tea making station, a coffee machine with a good selection and a refrigerator with small bottles of juice, milk and water. The buffet includes everything for a good breakfast and special requests are also taken into account.
The hotel is located in the Nippes district of Cologne, close to the racecourse. In the immediate vicinity you will find plenty of opportunities to stop. Bus and tram stops are also within easy reach. For visits to the city centre with museums and much more, the Cologne Card is a great way to save on admission fees. Bus and train services are also included.
Conclusion:

• Rooms: Very good
• Breakfast: Very good
• Location: Good
• Price: Good
