We had a great, short family vacation. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and very clean, and the food in the restaurant delicious. The only bummer was that the pool wasn't open. There is an ice cream parlor and a small shop in walking distance, and it was just a short walk to the beach, too. We would stay again!

Expensive and the service personal is a joke
I booked back in September, and at that time, there was no mention of renovations on the website. My stay was for seven nights. We were sent past the hotel rooms shown on the website and put in an older building. The pictures, however, show both areas.
As you can see from the pictures, the hotel is in a terrible state. The carpets are worn out, the view from the window is simply awful (the entire room isn't on the beach side), a window door handle was broken, the bathroom fan is as loud as a ship's engine, and there's no minibar. There's also no kettle, bottled water, or tea bags. Cables are simply threaded through fire doors. The condition might be better after the renovation, but the building's structure wasn't the biggest problem.
The receptionist (female, dark hair) and the breakfast attendant (red hair, glasses, short, plump) are incapable of smiling or acting in the friendly and customer-oriented manner one would expect from a three-star hotel. You get the feeling you're intruding, and eye contact is avoided, with everyone's eyes glued to their computer monitor or phone.
The woman at breakfast sends guests away from tables she hasn't set and leaves certain appliances, like a great pancake machine, off and unfilled. When I asked, she said it wasn't worth it with only six guests. She also likes to argue and insists she's right. I was called a liar when I told her it was off. When we went there together the next day, she had to turn the machine back on because it was off. Furthermore, her phone was always her best friend. When I went to the back to get more cold cuts, all I saw was her on her phone, and the dishes on the table were piling up.
The picture shows two large containers of rubble, which were right in front of the breakfast table and were accompanied by the sounds of power drills. As I said, all of this might be over after the construction work is finished, but it's clear that there's been poor planning and even demotivation among the staff. Breakfast was served from 7:30 to 10:00 AM, during which time the drilling could easily have been avoided. Furthermore, the entire restaurant was empty, and tables were set in front of those ugly containers instead of utilizing the remaining space overlooking the courtyard.
Overall, the short distance to the beach is a definite plus. The heating works perfectly, and the water pressure in the shower and sink is excellent. The beds are adequate, and each comes with a medium and a small pillow. Guests need to bring their own drinks and, if they aren't having breakfast, a kettle. Two staff members were absolutely awful, as mentioned above. However, there were two others who were pleasant: one blonde (reception) and one with curly dark hair, wearing glasses (breakfast). Unfortunately, I only encountered her on two out of seven days.
The table arrangements and the drilling noise were unnecessary. The redheaded woman also argued during breakfast. It shouldn't matter how many guests there are; maintaining a certain standard is crucial, especially for a three-star hotel. It felt more like staying at a motel on a main road, where a guy in a tank top with stains on it was already sniffling at reception.
I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. There are plenty of good hotels all along the beach, and this one is definitely not a 3-star hotel—only the price is. A very disappointing stay!

Ageing
The hotel is getting old. Everywhere is renovated during hotel operation without disturbing it.
We're the 4th. Been here once. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio of the hotel, especially the food, has deteriorated significantly. Except for the Friday buffet - that was great. Breakfast was also ok.
The package "Winter Magic" also includes the permanent happy hour of all drinks - also in the bar "Tiefenrausch". However, it had closed without notice. first the bartender was on vacation this week, then a sign: closed for renovation. ???
Alternatively, we were allowed to enjoy our drinks in the restaurant,
also half price; but from reduced cocktail menu
and at 9:00 p.m. the restaurant is closed. Especially great as we wanted to celebrate 2 birthdays.
The rooms are small and worn out, but ok. Unfortunately, no safe.
The mattresses were the negative highlight: absolutely down.
In the elevator rides the fear that he will get stuck.

Short stay with recreational value as far as the location of the hotel is concerned.
The room in the older part was very spacious and the view of North Sea very good. The armchairs in it were reclining furniture rather than seating. In addition, they stood in such a way that television was not possible. That was only possible if you were lying in bed or sitting on the foot-side of the bed. The beds were good, though.
The bathroom needs a fundamental improvement. A shower with a dark curtain, so that when you showered you were of course also standing in the dark. The shower head an imposition, as well as the soap tray in the shower. In case of careless movements in the shower or insufficient use of the curtain you had to absorb some water from the floor afterwards with the existing towels. Very mobile toilet glasses with associated lid did not make the bathroom any better.
Excellent is the associated restaurant - breakfast was very good and the menu not only offered a rich selection, it also tasted very good.
The bathroom needs a fundamental improvement. A shower with a dark curtain, so that when you showered you were of course also standing in the dark. The shower head an imposition, as well as the soap tray in the shower. In case of careless movements in the shower or insufficient use of the curtain you had to absorb some water from the floor afterwards with the existing towels. Very mobile toilet glasses with associated lid did not make the bathroom any better.
Excellent is the associated restaurant - breakfast was very good and the menu not only offered a rich selection, it also tasted very good.
