Attractively situated in the centre of Tulum, XscapeTulum features air-conditioned rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, free WiFi and a garden. This 4-star hotel offers a shared lounge and room service.

Ideally located in Tulum
This hotel is centrally located to the main shopping and restaurant area of Tulum.
It also has the advantage of onsite car parking
It is situated in a lively vibrant neighbourhood so do expect to hear local music and noises from the main road.
Once you enter the main entrance gates you are transported into another part of Tulum. The gardens are beautifully manicured with a luscious garden and large pool. It is automatically a tranquil area from the madness outside.
The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful.
There is an onsite restaurant that serves excellent sushi in the evenings.
We had one of the penthouse rooms and it was massive with an impressive terrace and plunge pool, which was ideal to cool off after a day exploring the region in the sun.
The juice stall opposite the hotel is worth trying and the owner is lovely. I suggest trying the agua fresca of the day.
The only few niggles or improvements to be made (but this did not spoil our stay) are - a t towel for the kitchen area, bespoke towels for the plunge pool, a hairdryer and move clothes hangers than just two and lastly treat the really bad lime scale in the bathroom.

Charged wrong amount --- unhelpful service, not in center
First of all the front desk charged my card in Pesos at a VERY unfavorable rate --- the original price was quoted in US Dollars. Then they asked to charge it again, the same amount, saying the first amount was a deposit! They need to make it clear beforehand what it is they are going to charge, and stick to it!! The bed was rock hard and the front desk unhelpful. Room looked over a building site. It is 2 KM from the center of Tulum. Many better places to stay.

Medium category to improve to not be mediocre
Medium category hotel that should improve, some matters with very low cost like putting handrails on your very long staircase, also one to the shower., where you also need a shelf to put soap and / or shampoo.
It also has no TV screens.

ESCAPE this place
I don’t know where to start. My partner and I booked an “Apartment with Patio or Balcony” for 8 nights and asked for a balcony as we don’t like staying on the ground floor. Apparently, it was not available so they placed us in an apartment with patio (room #8). The room was absolutely unprepared for our visit. It strongly smelled like pee during the whole stay, there were multiple missing lights, the safe didn’t have batteries, the shower was leaking, it was extremely noisy and there was no drinking water on the property. We had to go to the front desk multiple times and ask for things to get fixed. Diana at the front desk was very helpful (the only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one). The last day we asked to check out one our later and they didn’t allow (cleaners were in front of our room a few hours before the checkout time). We couldn’t wait to ESCAPE this place. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else (for instance, Hotel Biwa)

Lovely stay
Had a lovely stay at Xscape Tulum. Beautiful, neat and spacious rooms. The hotel has a lovely pool. Great location on walking distance from the center, the big street and all kinds of restaurants and bars. We will for sure go back if we are in Tulum again.
