Hotel Al Codega is set in a quiet courtyard, just 5 minutes' walk from St Mark's Square and the Ducal Palace. Rooms are air conditioned and have flat-screen TVs.

Hotel was beautifully set in a courtyard off the main streets. Location was wonderful - close to major attractions. Room was clean and comfortable. Venice was experiencing a heat wave, and the AC in the room worked great! Staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic and full of choices that included fruits, juices, breads, eggs and bacon! Lovely stay!

I’d give this place 11/10!
Had a wonderful stay of 5 nights in room 408 at the Boutique hotel, Hotel al Codega, in the heart of Venice, a stones throw from St Marks Square, and also the Rialto bridge.
The hotel thoroughly deserves its high ratings. My room was a superior room with a bath. No view to speak of, that was the only negative I’d say. It was across roof tops but very quiet. The aircon worked well, they have a lift and staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was good.
The bed had Frette quality linens and I noticed the bed was extra long. I’m 5’7” and can tell that the length was generous.
There is only one power point next to the desk so I suggest bringing an adapter with several usb ports. Also I found my 3m usb cable came in handy to stretch to the bedside for iPhone usage.
I requested a kettle which was placed in the room on arrival. I appreciated the early check in as I arrived at around 12.30pm and made up for the lack of view!
The breakfast offering at this hotel is next level!!
The breakfast is the star of the show at this hotel. Of all my years of travel this must have been the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever come across. There is definitely a foodie in the midst of the hotel management, and in the kitchen driving this offering.
The baking, bruschetta and egg dishes are just out of this world and everything is freshly baked. The assortment is rotated daily so you are not eating the same stuff every day.
I would return to this hotel for many reasons, not least of all the breakfast buffet.
Venice is an expensive town and the breakfast here set me up so I didn’t need to eat until the evening.
There is a Coop grocery store nearby. So you can stock up on drinks etc.
The hotel is incredibly handy to the Rialto Vaperetto stop, literally less than 5 minutes walk and also about a 5 minute walk to St marks square.
I took the alilaguna airport ferry direct from the airport for 18 euros. People have posted YouTube videos on how to get to the hotel from the Rialto stop. I suggest you watch that a couple of times.
To summarise I loved this place. I recommend booking early as it gets booked out. I think I’d come here every time I’m in Venice.

Excellent location and very central to main attractions. Extremely helpful and welcoming staff, clean hotel and nice buffet breakfast. A big thank you to the hotel and its staff.

One of the best places to stay in Venice!
We have stayed at this wonderful hotel several times in the past and each time we are always extremely pleased. The location is perfect halfway between Rialto and San Marco about a 2 to 3 minute walk in either direction. The staff at this family-owned hotel in the heart of Venice is always professional and friendly, and very efficient. The breakfast is one of the best offered by a hotel. Highly recommend !

Worth seeking out
This hotel is a bear to find. But try your best and you will be treated to a stay in a lovely, classic Venetian property with friendly staff and excellent service.
Look at the room before you accept it as there are different configurations. I spent two weeks in room 203 and was pleased with the size and comfort. There was plenty of room for luggage and drawers for storage.
The room has a surprise — the TV screen is in the mirror of the bureau - very high tech! There are enough channels to keep anyone happy - 999! CNN is at 100.
Decor is Venetian: silk walls, heavy damask drapes, Murano glass fixtures, dark wood furniture, fluffy cushions. Everything matches.
Special mention goes to their excellent buffet breakfast with lots of protein as well as sweets. Coffee/tea is to order.
Reception staff are friendly and helpful.
