A Memorable Stay That Went Far Beyond Expectations
The setting is simply breathtaking. Think lush, bucolic green lawns stretching down towards a serene lake in the background. It's the sort of place that instantly makes you breathe a little deeper and smile a little wider!
The food was outstanding. We had the veal from the gastro menu, preceded by a delicate asparagus starter, and finished with a Gateaux Marcel that came with the most exquisite rhubarb compote (and something else equally divine that I now can’t recall, blame the bliss!). Every bite was a delight. The restaurant staff were excellent and wonderfully accommodating afterwards when we lingered over drinks.
Our room (an Atrium Room) was bright, spacious and impeccably clean, with a bed and pillows so comfortable I wished I could take them home. Breakfast was included and genuinely excellent, with a wide, high-quality assortment that easily satisfied a group of athletes and their families.
But what stood out above all was the team’s consistent willingness to accommodate our needs, even preparing an early breakfast on the day of our departure.
And now to the moment that truly touched me: on our final morning, a pre-booked taxi failed to show up, putting my daugher and me, at real risk of missing our train to Copenhagen. With only minutes to spare, Jannie at reception calmly stepped in, asked a colleague to cover for her, and drove us to the station in her own car. That an amazing act of generosity, going over and beyond her call of duty, made all the difference. We caught the train with just moments to spare.
