Had a pleasant stay

Had to find a Hotel in Tilburg and decided on staying with De Postelse Hoeve.
I have to say that the staff made my stay.
It is not a 4 or 5 star Hotel, but it was comfortable.
My only negative comment would be that they should upgrade the beds.

Basic and not very cheap

I was booked at this hotel becouse of location, close to my daughter student room, but was not the best choice.Hotel has an ageg appearance. The carpet has probably 20 years. Bathroom OK, clean, no mold. Beds are also OK. Breakfast was good (except the omelet - too much water!). Restaurant staff very, but front desk staff not too friendly.

Great restaurant

We have stayed here a few times.
The accommodation is average. It's clean quiet and what you would expect.
May be a little above average price wise but the food here is amazing.
One of our trips we stayed here and decided to have a evening meal in the restaurant. It would rate as one of the top 10 meals I can remember in the last 16 years of living in Europe.
Check it out if you get the chance.

Very basic hotel, rooms relatively noisy

I was booked at this hotel by my hosts at Tilburg University, because the campus hotel, Auberge du Bonheur, was fully booked. I had stayed at the Auberge and is was significantly better than this one. The room is very basic and has probably not been updated in 20 years. The only positive is that the bed was relatively comfortable. On the negative side, the only toiletries they offer are two tiny tubes of body wash: no bar soap and no shampoo. I had to ration my hand washing to have something left to wash my hair. It was a big mistake to wash my hair with that stuff, but that's another story. There was mold on the bathroom tiles, so I took the fastest shower of my life.
Perhaps the most annoying feature was that the three lamps in the room have bulbs that must not be more than 10W each. I could not read at all at night, the light was simply too poor. Finally, the walls are thin and I laid in bed listening to every car that passed down the street.
If you are looking for a bare bones, cheap hotel to spend the night, this may be for you. If you want a comfortable stay, look elsewhere.

One Of the Better Tilburg Hotels

I've stayed in the De Postelse Hoeve several times over the past few years and if it had been part of the loyalty points program of which I am a member I would probably of stayed here more. The customer service is very good and the rooms are comfortable although they can get a bit on the warm side in the summer as the ceiling fans aren't up to much. One big feature in its favour is that the buffet breakfast which is complimentary and that is pretty much unique for Tilburg. It's a little bit out of town too and not too much apart from a petrol station with a small mini mart within walking distance so if you haven't got a car that might be an issue to you but if you have got a car I would recommend the De Postelse Hoeve or the Ibis if you are staying in Tilburg.
