About Aero Nomad

Dragonair, established in 1985, is an international airline operating out of Hong Kong and a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific. Dragonair is positioned as an airline serving the Asia Pacific region and its largest passenger base comes from China. They offer an estimated 400 flights a week to the Mainland, and 23 out of its 52 destinations in Asia is to China. Known for its service and excellence, Dragonair won Skytrax’s ‘World’s Best Regional Airline’ and ‘Best Regional Airline in Asia’ awards in 2015. Most notably, Dragonair has also won the Skytrax ‘Best Airline’ award in the China category for 6 consecutive years. At present, Dragonair operates a fleet of 41 aircrafts and served over 31 million travelers in 2014 together with Cathay Pacific. Similar to its parent company, Dragonair is a member of 2 frequent-flyer programs, Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles. It is also part of the Oneworld airline alliance program.

Dragonair also has a mobile app, known as KA Mobile, which allows you to check-in, check the flight status, view your latest bookings, and stay up-to-date on information regarding your flight. This application is available for iOS and Android devices.

Online check-in is available between 90 minutes and 48 hours before your scheduled flight, and is now also accessible on mobile web browsers. After online check-in, you may either self-print the boarding pass or issue a mobile boarding pass by keying in your mobile number. With your self-print boarding pass or mobile boarding pass, you may proceed straight to Immigration at the airport if you have no check-in baggage, or drop off your baggage at the Self Check-In Bag Drop Counter. Please check the website for details on participating airports and their minimum time requirements for using the bag drop service, which ranges from 45 minutes to 75 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Tip for mobile boarding pass users: When you receive the SMS with the link, remember to click the link IMMEDIATELY to retrieve the boarding pass and take a screenshot of the QR Code just in case.
Self check-in kiosks are available at Hong Kong International Airport, Level 7. You can retrieve your booking by (1) inserting your Marco Polo Club or Asia Miles membership card, (2) scanning your passport, or (3) keying in your booking reference number. For those traveling to Hong Kong International Airport via the Airport Express (AEL), you may also check-in at Hong Kong or Kowloon MTR stations using the In-Town Check-In service. This service is available from 90 minutes to 24 hours before your flight, from 5.30am onwards.
The baggage allowances are 20kg for Economy Class, 30kg for Business Class, and 40kg for First Class, with no limits on number of pieces. Marco Polo Club members also enjoy additional baggage allowances of 10kg for Silver members, 15kg for Gold members, and 20kg for Diamond members. No single piece of baggage should weigh more than 32kg. Excess baggage charges apply depending on the zone in which you are flying. For passengers traveling to Central, North, and South Americas, Dragonair has implemented a piece system for the baggage allowance – all adults are allowed 2 pieces of baggage, at 23kg per piece for Economy Class, and 32kg per piece for Business and First Class. Diamond and Gold members of the Marco Polo Club are given a baggage allowance of 3 pieces at the same maximum weight per piece.
Starting from March 2013, Dragonair’s fleet has started undergoing seat upgrading to mimic the offerings provided by its parent company, Cathay Pacific. Economy Class seats have a seat pitch of 30-inch and are 17.5-inch wide (5-inch recline), with a 9-inch personal TV. New Business Class seats have a fixed shell design, with a 42-inch seat pitch and 20-inch width, with generous legroom and an 8-inch recline. These seats also come with a 12.1-inch personal TV and a noise-cancelling headset. On the A320, all Business Class passengers will be provided with a personal tablet to stream premium entertainment content. First Class seats are 82-inch long and 27.6-inch wide flat beds, with 15.4-inch personal TV. All Dragonair seats have a USB port to charge mobile devices, an AC port for laptop charging, and a multi-port connector which allows them to stream content from their electronic devices.
Dragonair serves in-flight meals to all passengers. They also cater to a wide range of dietary requirements, providing diverse meal options including vegetarian meals, diabetic meals, kosher or halal meals, and even meals for young children or babies. Special meal requests should be made to the airline at least 24 hours before the scheduled flight via the ‘Manage My Booking’ online function or by contacting the local Dragonair reservations office.
Flight delays are not uncommon for Dragonair flights. Travelers should stay updated on their flight status by using the Dragonair SMS service which provides reminders on your flight and notifications on flight delays or cancellations. The SMS service can be activated by keying in your mobile number during your online booking. Another service you can use to retrieve flight information is notiFLY on Google Now.
